SKY FULL
OF ROCKETS

I'm a runaway shadow

hiding in the fields

running from the bullies

that made me wanna leave

My preset was a common man

Maybe a job in a store

but I kept running from the story

A story written in stone

I left town this morning

and tried to look away

The factories and the markets

are begging me to stay

But the wheels keep turning

gently down the drain

I got no plan of learning

more about this place

I just got off the phone with Jesus

He said, child, you are on your own

I know I´ll never be a writer

Like Edgar Allan Poe

I might not be Davy Crocket

or even see the Alamo

We got a sky full of rockets

they say kid,

you gotta long way to go

Everybody told me

Life is a winding road

I was a born on the border

between dust and gold

I am not getting any younger

but I not scared of getting old

I can be who I wanna be

go where I wanna go

I just got off the phone with Jesus...

I been running for a lifetime

always heading for the door

The higher you climb

the mightier the fall

but the road behind is burning

the one ahead goes on

I have tried to play smarter

gotta reap what I have sown

I just got off the phone with Jesus...
